Relief pitcher Danys Baez, has called it a career and has elected to retire, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.
Last season Baez pitched for the Phillies before he was released in August. In 29 relief appearances, Baez went 2-4 and posted a 6.25 ERA.

According to ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick, the Phildelphia Phillies have designated Danys Baez for assignment.
In 2011, Baez had a record of 2-4 with a 6.25 ERA in 29 relief appearances.

Update 16:20 PST: Matt Gelp of Philly.com writes that a number of teams (including the Phillies) have expressed interest in Mike MacDougal, the Washington Nationals closer in 2009. His agent, Rex Gary, said yesterday that he had communicated with the Phillies but declined to say how advanced the talks were.
