The Cleveland Indians designated Austin Kearns for assignment according to Paul Hoynes of the Plain dealer. This movement will create room for Shin-Soo Choo who was activated from the Disabled List today.
Kearns is hitting .200/.302/.287 with 2 HR’s and 7 RBI’s in 150 AB’s for the Indians in 2011.

According to the Associated Press, Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Derek Lowe was charged with drunk driving on Thursday evening.
A Georgia State Patrol trooper stopped Lowe after he was spotted racing another car down an Atlanta street. After smelling alcohol, the trooper administered a sobriety test and Lowe was arrested.

The Cleveland Indians have designated outfielder/first baseman/designated hitter Jordan Brown to make room for the recently signed outfielder Austin Kearns, according to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com.
The Indians signed Kearns to a one-year contract on December 20, 2010 for $1.3 million.
The 26-year-old Brown hit .230/.272/.310 in 87 at-bats over 26 games for the Indians in 2010.
