According to Troy Renck of the Denver Post, third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff has elected free agency after clearing waivers.
The Rockies acquired Kouzmanoff from the Athletics late in August. Kouzmanoff hit .235/.284/.372 with 7 HR’s and 33 RBI’s in 234 AB’s for the Athletics and Rockies in 2011.

According to a team announcement by the Rockies, the team has acquired Kevin Kouzmanoff from the Oakland Athletics for a player to be named later.
This isn’t the first time that the Rockies expressed interest in Kouzmanoff. Back in November 2010, the Rockies showed interest in Kouzmanoff.

In an post on the Oakland Athletic’s Twitter Account, they announced that they have outrighted Kevin Kouzmanoff to Triple-A Sacramento. In parallel moves, the team also selected Graham Godfrey and optioned Bobby Cramer to Triple-A.
In 46 games for the Athletics this season, the 29-year-old Kouzmanoff hit .221/.262/.353 with four home runs and 17 RBIs.

The Denver Posts’ Troy E. Renck has confirmed that the Colorado Rockies have interest in the Oakland Athletics’ Kevin Kouzmanoff.
In a follow-up Tweets, Renck says that the Rockies have Jose Lopez, Jorge Cantu and Ty Wigginton on their list.
